Makers Park Multi-Use Trail:
Designed to fill a the gap in the village's expansive bike trail system, connecting Algonquin's Makers Park to the Old Town Algonquin historic district, this recently completed project set out to provide visitors, non-motorist commuters and shoppers alike with an alternative and covenant way to reach the ever-growing Marker's Park.
The new Maker's Park path winds off of the existing Praire Path, taking visitors through a wetland area that connects to popular businesses, and of course, the post office.
Funded, in part, through a Bicycle Path Grant Program from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, this short new route is a crucial new amenity for this growing district of Algonquin. One look, and you'll floored with the results, this winding trail is a beautiful addition to what is quickly one of the most bike-able cities in Northern Illinois.
