“My wife is from Geneva and I just fell in love with the town,” Michaels stated in the release, explaining how he decided to set his story in Geneva. “The book was written from a sincere appreciation of The Little Traveler and Geneva.”

So while others stroll along Third Street, immersed in beautiful Christmas decor as they sip hot chocolate, a retired cop named Mac and local banker named Millie help solve “The Christmas Walk Caper,” seeking justice for the untimely death of the owner of the beloved and charming retail mansion called The Tiny Wanderer.
Readers may notice a few similarities, such as The Little Traveler transformed into The Tiny Wanderer in the story, and The Hennington Inn next to the Fox River also may sound familiar.
Although based on a real town and a genuine annual tradition, Michaels stated in the release that the characters are all fiction.
“I kept things relatively general and different enough from reality,” Michaels said.
After learning who the victim is in Michaels’ tale, The Little Traveler’s owner, Mike Simon, breathed a sigh of relief.
“It's a murder mystery, and it's the owner of The Tiny Wanderer (get it?) who gets murdered,” Simon stated in an email. “Fortunately, the owner character is not based on me.”
After reading an early copy of the book, Simon stated in the release, "The story is sure to be a fun read for anyone who loves The Little Traveler, downtown Geneva, and a good mystery."
At The Little Traveler event, Michaels also will sign copies of books in his two award-winning series: "The Tannenbaum Tailors" and "The Bud Hutchins Supernatural Thrillers."
His collection of works mashes genres from thrillers to science fiction to fantasy.
