IRISH DAYS continues 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 1, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 2, historic downtown Long Grove. All eyes will be smiling when historic downtown Long Grove presents its annual Irish Days, a three-day family friendly celebration of Irish culture, music, food and beer. Cobble-stone streets get painted a fresh shade of green with bagpipers, folk bands and Irish dancers performing nonstop throughout this outdoor event which takes place in the center of town. In addition to authentic Irish food, drink and entertainment, highlights include the Irish Costume Doggie contest, the Best Looking Men’s Legs in a Kilt contest and the Where’s Paddy Leprechaun Hunt. A Gaelic Tent promoting Irish cultural awareness and lots of local merchants hawking Irish-themed foods and goods round out this one-of-a-kind St. Patrick’s Day on Labor Day experience.
