Now in his mid-thirties, Agoston said he has worked in the restaurant business since he was 18, in myriad roles from cooking to delivery, and, most recently, managed two bars simultaneously in Carol Stream and Lombard.
He spent several years managing a pub in St. Charles, and said he recognized the business potential of the city's west side. Since acquiring the space, he has changed the seating to predominately high tops among improvements such as revamping the lighting, adding elevated booths and putting in a stage. Thirteen flat screens ring the space.
He also has undertaken a $30,000 patio build-out project. It entails installing draft lines for a full patio bar, along with lighting, umbrellas and four televisions for sports action inside or out at ThrowBack.
