This year, the St. Charles Park District's annual summer concert series at Lincoln Park has been replaced by a drive-in concert series from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays at the larger James O. Breen Community Park.
The Flat Cats will perform July 23, followed by Nerdvana on July 30, Howard and the White Boys on Aug. 6, Second Hand Soul Band on Aug. 13, and Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band on Aug. 20. Reservations are $5 per car and must be made by 4 p.m. the day of each concert. Reservations can be made at stcparks.ticketleap.com/concert/dates.
Each reservation will get two parking spaces – one to park in and the other to spread out and enjoy the concert. Those who attend can bring their blankets, lawn chairs, picnic baskets and beverages for the outdoor concerts. Event parking starts at 6 p.m.
Pop-up tents are not allowed. Charlie Fox's Pizzeria will be on site selling 12-inch, thin-crust pizzas and beverages. Restrooms will be available at the splash park.
Bands will be staged in the center of the Otter Cove Aquatic Park parking lot at the north end.
Those who attend are urged to practice social distancing and to keep their group and belongings in their designated area. Face coverings also are encouraged.
