I have certain cravings as the coronavirus continues. There was about a month when I had multiple bags of Twizzlers hidden away in my bedroom. But when it comes to real food, there was one local restaurant I knew I had to visit.
I visited Asadoras Argentinas Burgers at 4542 Route 71, Oswego, not long after it opened, and had one of the best burgers I've ever had. I've also heard great things about their sandwiches, so when my family and I ordered from Asadoras recently, we switched some things up.
This time, we ordered a classic burger with a side of fries, a favorite for one of us, and the others ordered a Lomo Asadoras sandwich and a Pechuga Pampeana sandwich with a side of paprika fries.
The three of us agreed that a high point of the sandwiches and burgers at Asadoras is that they are incredibly juicy and flavorful without the addition of condiments. Meats are cooked well, buns are thick and toppings are fresh and delicious.
The classic burger was a hit again, as were the fries, thick and spiral cut – just the way they are liked in this house. Burgers from Asadoras also are huge helpings, something that is much appreciated.
The Lomo Asadoras sandwich, with feta cheese, steak, caramelized onions, arugula and a chutney special sauce, again was a hit. At first glance, the sandwich seemed as if it would be dry without an overabundance of sauce, but the one who ordered the sandwich said he was pleasantly surprised to find the sandwich juicy and full of flavor.
My sandwich, the Pechuga Pampeana with chicken, bacon, sauteed mushrooms, red peppers and mozzarella, was delicious thanks to the juicy chicken and red peppers. It didn't hurt that the thick slices of bacon were cooked exactly the way that I like, not too crispy.
Again, Asadoras outdid itself with what could be my favorite sandwich – one that I plan to return to many times in the future.
Something else that should be noted and praised is the prompt response for Asadoras' customers. It took about 30 minutes for our meals to be ready for pickup, and when I arrived, orders for me and other customers were put out, bagged and labeled waiting for customers, and allowing employees to keep producing delicious meals.
So thank you to the Asadoras staff for keeping up high-quality meals during this pandemic, and thank you for opening in Oswego. You're still a hit.
