Note to readers: The following event has been postponed.

The Venue in Aurora will deliver a livestream concert by Alligator Records artist Toronzo Cannon to celebrate the music performance space’s first anniversary at 8 p.m. Monday, June 1.

Direct donations can be made at themusicvenue.org. Proceeds from the show will benefit the performing artist and Fox Valley Music Foundation, which created The Venue at 21 S. Broadway (Route 25) in downtown Aurora.

Chicago bluesman Toronzo Cannon defies all expectations. The blistering guitarist, soulful vocalist, singular songwriter and city bus driver fuses his muscular, rock-inspired blues guitar playing with his original, keenly detailed slice-of-life songs, blazing his own blues trail, a news release stated.

“We are excited to have Toronzo return to The Venue after headlining our opening one year ago,” said the foundation's Dave Glynn in the release. “These are tough times for musical artists and rough times for music rooms like ours. We are figuring out ways to continue to present live music and are thrilled that Toronzo is helping us out and we can help him by getting him in front of a live audience.”
