Sharing good news, Mayor Brian Sager and Woodstock city officials announced several ways the community will reopen in the days ahead.
Woodstock has designed outdoor dining and retail display areas, along with several area communities, to encourage safe enjoyment and economic business recovery, while still ensuring distancing guidelines for all involved.
Picnic tables are being placed on city property adjacent to restaurants where prepared food, and alcohol in original containers, may be ordered for takeout and consumed outside by couples or families with self-cleanup. Shops may display items outside their stores, and accept sales remotely with limited interaction.
As of June 1, the Woodstock Public Library will offer curbside pickup of materials, and the Recreation Department will offer small group outdoor fitness classes.
Looking ahead to live entertainment, the 136th season of the Woodstock City Band will take place with distancing measures beginning in July.
The community also will offer the annual Fourth of July Fireworks, in a drive-in movie style, at Emricson Park.
