Guided tours through the snow are offered throughout the winter at the landmark Farnsworth House near Plano.
Shuttle services are provided when walking paths are impassable or weather severe.
Tours are available at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays through March 14. For a limited time, guests can save $5 on a tour ticket using the promo code Winter. Advance ticket purchase is encouraged. Tickets are available for at farnsworthhouse.org/winter-tours.
The regular season opens March 31, when the full schedule of tours is available at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1945 and built in 1951, the Farnsworth House was a private residence for more than 50 years until Landmarks Illinois and the National Trust for Historic Preservation purchased it in 2003.
