GENEVA – The Geneva Park District’s Super Shuffle 5K will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2020, according to a news release.

This year's event is Feb. 2 at Geneva Middle School South, 1415 Viking Drive, and takes place rain or shine. On-site registration and check-in will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., and the race will begin at 10 a.m.

The run began in 2011 as an event to encourage people to be active before the big football game. The race also was designed as a way to support the Geneva Park District Scholarship Fund, which provides recreational opportunities to the community. In honor of the 10th anniversary, the first 250 people to sign up will receive a free knit beanie hat.

Immediately following the race, one may stop by the Stephen D. Persinger Gym from 10 a.m. to noon for the Game Day Party at 3507 Kaneville Road in Geneva. It offers games, beverages, game day food and other activities.

Racers will receive a participation medal and a free beverage/food ticket for use at the Game Day Party, and additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Awards will be given to the overall top female and male finishers, and the top female and male in each age category: 14 and younger, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-65 and 66 and older.

Registration costs $40, and a race-only option is $20. One can register online through Race Roster at or at
