SUGAR GROVE – Fox Country Players will conduct open auditions for a concert titled “Night of Broadway – I Dreamed a Dream.”

Auditions will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Feb. 8 and 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 10 and 11 at the Waubonsee Community College auditorium on the Sugar Grove campus.

“Night of Broadway” is a fundraising, cabaret-style concert directed by Eric Downs, a news release stated. All proceeds from the show and silent auction go to support the Fox Country Players Theatre Arts Academy. This year’s concert theme is “I Dreamed a Dream.”

“Here’s your chance to wow us with the song you’ve always dreamed of singing,” organizers announced. “Maybe it’s from a show you’ve never done, or a song that doesn’t match your gender or age.”

One should prepare 32 bars of a song and bring printed sheet music for the accompanist (no tablets or backing tracks). Of those cast, some performers will sing solos, while others will be put in pairs or small groups. All cast members will perform in two group numbers.

“Night of Broadway” will be performed at 7 p.m. March 7 and 2 p.m. March 8.
