The 34th annual Scarecrow Fest, voted one of the best fall festivals in the Midwest, is about to begin, bringing entertainment for all to enjoy in St. Charles on Oct. 11-13.

This nationally recognized festival is St. Charles' signature event, held in beautiful Lincoln Park, 450 W. Main Street.

You can make your own scarecrow and then hit the town to vote for your favorite. Over 100 hand-made and mechanical scarecrows of all types and designs will be on display. You won't believe the things participants come up with each year! From classic fall designs to pop culture favorites, there's sure to be one that tickles your fancy and proves worthy of a photo op.

Other festival favorites include a carnival and craft show. Located in beautiful downtown St. Charles, this is fall at its finest.

New this year, Best of the Fox is sponsoring a Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt! Participating local shops and businesses are getting in on the fun creating their own scarecrows for the weekend, and you get to hunt them down for a chance at fun prizes while enjoying beautiful downtown St. Charles.

Scarecrow contest entries will be on display beginning at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11. All Scarecrow Fest visitors can vote in the Scarecrow contest to help decide the winners in six categories: MEGA, mechanical, clubs, nonprofits and schools, individuals, family and business.

St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director Jenna Sawicki said it will be a great weekend for locals and visitors alike to come out to Scarecrow Fest.

“This year, we’ve worked hard on continuing the success of Scarecrow Fest and seeing how we can make it a benefit for all to enjoy,” Sawicki said. “As for the contest, I can’t wait to see what our contestants are bringing to Lincoln Park.”

There will also be live entertainment throughout the weekend with performances from dance studios and local bands. For the full lineup of entertainment, visit
