GENEVA – Children between the ages of 2 and 14 are invited to the Healthy Kids Running Series event at 2 p.m. Oct. 13 at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva.
According to a news release, Healthy Kids Running Series is a national, community-based nonprofit designed to get kids active, feel accomplished and lay the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. 2019 marks the group's 10th anniversary with a series of races, moon bounces, face painting and more activities.
Registration is available online at HealthyKidsRunningSeries.org. All participants receive a commemorative Healthy Kids Running Series 10 Fest T-shirt and an RXBar, the release stated.
“Healthy Kids Running Series is designed to motivate, inspire and inform kids to be healthy and active,” stated Jeff Long, Healthy Kids Running Series Founder, in the news release. “Our goal is to provide a fun environment to improve their self-esteem and inspire them to adopt a ‘Get Up and Go’ attitude. It is incredible to see the impact Healthy Kids Running Series has had on families across the country.”
Healthy Kids Running Series is a 501©3 non-profit organization founded in 2009 to combat increasing rates of childhood obesity through the introduction of running.
