Get in the spirit of the season in historic downtown Geneva, as merchants host an Autumn Fest Oct. 4 to 6 with a Jack-O’-Lantern Walk, a Drink Crawl and a pet costume contest.
The Jack-O'-Lantern Walk will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 4, with maps available at one of more than 35 participating merchants during the week before the event, Cornelio said.
Families can vote on the most creative and the most spooky in celebration of kicking off October’s first Friday shopping event, the release stated.
Participation in the Jack-O’-Lantern Walk is free, but to vote, participants need to tag a photo on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #AutumnFestGeneva.
The Drink Crawl will be from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 5. Tickets cost $30 for adult participants to go to more than 15 merchant drink shops offering a 2-ounce sample size of a fall-themed beverage. Both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options will be available. The cost for participating children is $10.
A map for the Drink Crawl will be available at the Strawflower Shop, 210 W. State St., and at Scentcerely Yours, 211 W. State St., and also on a Facebook events page at shawurl.com/3bsu.
All proceeds from ticket sales for the Drink Crawl, after the Autumn Fest costs, will go to the Geneva Beautification Committee for downtown flower plantings. One must register in advance for the Drink Crawl at shawurl.com/3bst.
The last event is a pet costume contest fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at a new local coffee shop, Cafe & Barr, at 407 S. Third St. The contest is free, coordinated by Bruce & Willy’s Natural Pet Source, Cafe & Barr, Harvey's Tales and Tiny N Tall Rescue.
Funds raised will go to support Tiny N Tall Rescue and Answers Pet Food. The event includes raffle baskets, local merchant products, a chest freezer, gift cards and adoptable dogs. All friendly pets are welcome.
