Looking for a ride that makes a difference in the community?

The DuKane chapter of ABATE Illinois is gearing up for its 33rd annual Toy and Food Run on Oct. 13. The all-day motorcycle parade leaves at 12:30 p.m. from Knuckleheads Tavern and Schmidt's Towne Tap in Elburn, heading to the Sycamore Speedway. The party at the Speedway will feature food, vendors, a burnout competition, live music and more.

Groups of riders will collect donations from one of several area participating Harley-Davidson dealerships before meeting up in Elburn.

This run will be escorted and blocked by multiple police departments. Registration is $10 per person plus a toy or food donation. Those wearing a gray DuKane ABATE events T-shirt can participate for free. Trophies will be awarded for the dealership with the most toy donations, dealership with the most food donations, dealership with the most off-site pre-registrations and the burnout competition winner.
