Families searching for inexpensive nearby entertainment opportunities are in luck. Dozens of museums throughout the Fox Valley and DuPage County areas invite area residents to embark on a quest to find fun facts, mysterious stories, amazing outdoor experiences and unbelievable history within easy driving distance from their homes.

The annual Passport to Adventure program offers an open invitation to visit the many amazing and exciting activities that local museums and related sites provide to enrich lives and communities throughout the region. Admission to many of the nearly 70 participating sites is free.

At each location, families can have their passport booklets stamped and become eligible for $25 gift card prize drawings. Visit six sites between Sept. 1 and April 30 and mail in the stamp page by May 15 for entry in the passport drawing.

Many of participating sites have designed special activities for those participating in the Passport to Adventure program.

The Kane-DuPage Regional Museum Association is an alliance of more than five dozen museums, nature centers and libraries. The organization serves its members through collaborative programming, promotion, professional development and networking.

Passports can be downloaded and printed out at the KDRMA website, listed below, or picked up at any of the other nearly 70 museums, nature centers or libraries participating in this year’s program.
